Conventions of a horror film.

Conventions of a horror film.
There is normally a:
Villain- Person who creates the problem.
Victim – The person in need of help.
Hero- The person who saves the day or tries to.
False Hero- A bad person who pretends they want to help but is evil.
Donor- Person who helps the hero with a piece of information, object ect.

The villain is a man who is ugly or has some personal issues that have affected his life.
The victim is usually a female who is helpless and very attractive.
The hero is conventionally a strong selfless man who ends up falling in love with the victim.
False hero could be someone close to the victim that has been in on the plan to kill them.
Donor is usually a very wise person, normally quite old.

Conventionally the victim is wearing white which connotes innocence.

Example of victim.
The villain is quite big and unpopular.

Example of Villain
You also expect there to be a few stock characters in the film that end up dying in the start of the film, to set the example of what may happen to the main victim.

We plan to follow these conventions as much as we possibly can with the resources that we have.
There is going to be two protagonists:  Kerry Treacy- playing the victim and Olympia Amoo- playing the villain. The only convention that we do not intent to follow is the gender of the villain; our villain is played by a female.
