Audience Research Question 12.

What convinces me to watch a film is by the first impressions, In this case the trailer. The film posters on buses or billboards are just a start. From the Audience research the major outcome was the trailers. At 52% of the audience that have participated have said they are convinced to watch a film by judging its trailer. The trailer contains collections of the film to give the viewer a feel of what they would expect during the film. The whole idea of movie trailers is to excite the viewer and a good trailer will always want the viewer to see the full movie.

At 20% the audiences have chosen the summary of the film (e.g. synopsis). The summary gives an insight to the film and has a brief story line which does not give the story away but leads the reader into watching the film. It is a very good technique in reeling in the reader.

People will only watch movies which are worthwhile. This is where 15% of the audience researched have decided for them reviews and other people's point of views convince them to watch the film. Reviews are not always a good method of judging a film as it is a person's own point of view and sometime not all person has the same taste or approach to a film

Some of the audiences are more into the film and have a strong-mind in watching the film depending on what actors/actresses are featuring on the set 5 % of the audiences are said to be. People are convinced certain characters can perform well off than other actors/actresses. Unknown actors or not so well known sometimes puts people off as they tend to think the whole logic in the film is lost by unknown faces.

Another 5% of the audiences see the big picture appeal to them more. Posters have been everywhere and it is a good method of advertisement. Just about anywhere a poster of a movie can be found let it be a bus, billboard or train station, the picture appeals and stands out. Posters tell only one half of the story and it is all down to the viewer to judge by the still images if it worth their time.

Last but not least at 3% of the audiences have said they are convinced by film magazines in comparison to the trailers. Film magazines contain images and also reviews, but not all are into reading magazines as they prefer the trailers.
